Man Pulls Gun on Dad and Son in Theater Showing 'Star Trek Beyond' After Kid Kicks His Seat: Cops

An unidentified man wielded a gun at a Kentucky cinema, causing people to flee, cops say.

Police in Kentucky are seeking charges against an Illinois man they say pulled a gun on a father and son inside a movie theater over the weekend.

Moviegoers were watching Star Trek Beyond at Cinemark theater on Saturday when a boy started to kick the seat in front of him, the father told Paducah Police.

Witnesses told police the man got up and cursed at the child, at which point the father stepped in.

The two men then reportedly got into a physical altercation, which witnesses said the father was winning — until the suspect pulled out a gun.

"What the [expletive] are you going to do now," the suspect allegedly said.

People scattered at the sight of the firearm, police said. Meanwhile, three men — including moviegoers and employees — escorted the man from the theater and were outside with him when officers arrived, the statement said.

The man was barred from Cinemark property, and police intend to present their investigation on Monday to the McCracken County Attorney’s office for charges.
