'Wolf of Wall Street' Party Host Defends Raucous Hamptons Bash: 'It Was Good Clean Fun'

Brett Barna lost his job on Wall Street after reports of the party that looked like a scene from the 2013 film.

The man who threw a party that reportedly rivaled pleasure fests depicted in The Wolf of Wall Street, says stories about his gathering are greatly exaggerated.

“We raised money for charity. It was good, clean fun,” Former Wall Street hotshot Brett Barna told CNBC after the Fourth of July bash in the Hamptons, New York’s rich and trendy beach resort.

Homeowner Omar Amanat said the party caused $1 million worth of damages.

The festivities cost Barna his job, but he is adamant that his soiree caused little or no damage.

“This is about Mr. Amanat trying to create the most ridiculous story to pressure me into giving more money,” Barna said.

He added: “The idea that there is a million dollars in damage? There wasn’t even a thousand dollars in damage.”

But Amanat may have bigger problems to worry about. He has been arrested on fraud charges in an unrelated case.
