Knock Off Nightmares is filled with horror stories of shoppers who purchased dresses online only to find the gowns were nothing like the ones they saw on the internet.
One shopper, Joy Cutrone, knows what it's like to be taken. The New Jersey dance instructor wanted to buy her star pupil, Brianna, a dress for her 16th birthday. She bought a gown online for a bargain price of $99.
“I could not believe it when I opened the package,” she told Inside Edition. “It was dirty.”
When the teen tried it on, it was a total disappointment.
Bridal gown shopper Candace thought she had found the perfect wedding gown, but it cost $4,000.
“It was the budget of my entire wedding,” she said.

Then she found the same dress on line for just $300. When it came, she immediately knew it was a cheap knockoff.
Inside Edition conducted their own test and ordered a $1,200 taffeta gown for $477. The train on the cheaper dress was not what Inside Edition expected.
Randy Fenoli from TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress showed what was wrong with the knockoff.
“This is what you get when you order online - that is going to be your train,” he said. “When you order a Maggie Sottero you get this big train.”
