NSYNC, Backstreet Boys Sound Off After Death of Imprisoned Former Manager Lou Pearlman

Pearlman, the mind behind NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, was serving a 25-year sentence for his role in a massive Ponzi scheme.

The shamed music mogul, who created NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys before being put away for a quarter century for his role in a Ponzi scheme, has died in prison.

Lou Pearlman, whose music industry magic is credited with sparking the boy band craze that catapulted entertainers like Justin Timberlake to superstardom, was 62.

Pearlman was serving a 25-year sentence in a Florida prison following a 2008 fraud conviction.

The $300 million Ponzi scheme through Pearlman's Trans Continental companies was uncovered in 2006, according to the AP.

After news of their former manager's death broke, several of Pearlman's old charges reacted to the news on social media.

Among them was Justin Timberlake, the curly-haired boy crooner turned international pop and movie star.

"I hope he found some peace," wrote Timberlake.

Timberlake's fellow NSYNCer, Lance Bass, also reacted on Twitter:
