At only 6 months old, this baby is already making waves after becoming the youngest person in America to go water skiing.
Auburn Absher, who is six months and 10 days old, became the new record holder when he hit the water in Falls Lake, North Carolina, over the weekend, according to his parents.
"He's actually having fun," his father Rob Absher, who has been water skiing himself since he was 4 years old, told InsideEdition.com.
Wrapped up in a coast guard-approved life jacket, baby Auburn can be seen riding the waves as his father pulled a custom built trainer ski along the shore with his mom following closely behind, ready to catch him if he fell.
"He's perfectly fine," Rob assured.
But all his success didn't come overnight.
Little Auburn practiced in the living room and lawn under the watchful eye of his mother before he really hit the waves.
What makes his accomplishment even more special, Rob said, is that not only is his son young, but he was born premature, too.
He said little Auburn was born premature at 32 weeks, and "the fact that he's able to stand up and hold onto things is incredible in itself."
Despite criticism from other parents, Rob said they wouldn't have put their baby on water skis if they didn't think little Auburn would enjoy it.
"He loves watching water ski videos [on TV]," he told InsideEdition.com. "We wanted to bring the joy of what we do to our son, but we didn't plan on doing it this early."
