A Walmart in Panama City, Florida, upset some shoppers after a soda display stacked Coca-Cola products to represent the Twin Towers under a banner that read: “We Will Never Forget."
On Tuesday, Shawn Richard tweeted an image of the display which showcased cases of Coke Zero as the Twin Towers in front of cases of Coke and Diet Coke that formed the American flag.

He posted the comment: “Florida c’mon man.”
The tweet sent many into a tirade. One person said: “This is THE ultimate in brand 9/11 cash-in tackiness and nothing will ever ever ever top it.”
Another said: "I mean actually this is the most american thing i have ever seen, and it makes me want to die slow and painful.”
The display came less than a week before the 15th anniversary of the worst terror attack on American soil.
Cowson also told the paper that Coca-Cola "typically approaches Walmart with display ideas, and they either approve or deny it. In this case, Walmart approved the 9/11 display."
In a statement to Buzzfeed, Coca-Cola said: “This display was meant to honor local firefighters and to support their organization’s upcoming event. We sincerely apologize that anyone was offended or misunderstood its intent, and we have replaced the display.”
