Keeping It Classy in the Heat: Stars Show Off the Best Emmy Looks in Scorching Temperatures

William H. Macy hid an icepack under his arm as he walked the red carpet.

Television's hottest stars certainly looked the part Sunday night as they took to the Emmy red carpet, showing off award-worthy styles amid scorching temperatures which reached near 90 degrees.

Sofia Vergara brought her son, Manolo, to the awards and beamed in her Versace gown.

She kept fans up to date with what she was doing via Instagram, taking candid shots of her night.

A pregnant Kerry Washington was a knockout in a strapless Brandon Maxwell black dress with cutouts around the tummy.

Yellow was a popular color of the night as Taraji P. Henson, Minnie Driver and Angela Bassett rocked the color.

White was also another popular color among the stars. Keri Russell, Emmy Rossum, Tracee Ellis Ross and Niecy Nash wore gowns in the color.

Ross showcased her Ralph Lauren dress on Instagram.

Nash showed off her look before she took the red carpet.

The stars turned up the heat on the Emmy red carpet Sunday while the temperatures in Los Angeles were scorching hot.

Bryan Cranston, nominated to his role as Lyndon B. Johnson in All the Way, vented to Inside Edition: “It’s so hot.”

Veep’s Tony Hale echoed the statement, saying, “it's fire in here. Fire!"  The funnyman added that he felt he was overheating.

William H. Macy, who wore a black-on-black tux, told Inside Edition his secret to keeping cool.

"Guess what I got, an icepack in my armpit," he said as he pulled it out of his jacket.

Marcia Clark took to Twitter to joke about the heat wave.
