Baseball Fan Arrested After Allegedly Hurling Beer Can At Opposing Team's Player

A Toronto Blue Jays fan apparently took his love of his team too far during an MLB Wild Card game.

A Toronto Blue Jays fan might have taken his love of his team too far during an MLB Wild Card game, allegedly hurling a beer can at Baltimore Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim, officials said.

Journalist Ken Pagan, 41, was arrested for allegedly throwing the brew at Kim as he made a catch during the seventh inning with the game tied 2 to 2 on Wednesday.

Pagan turned himself in after Toronto police apparently suspected him after piecing together video, the Toronto Star reported.

Accompanied by two lawyers, Pagan surrendered at Toronto police's 52nd Division around 7:15 p.m. Thursday and was charged with one count of mischief.

Pagan did not speak to the media, but his lawyers said their client was undergoing "trial by social media." He denies throwing the can.

Conflicting theories abound whether Pagan threw the can or it somehow managed to end up near Kim by another means, but authorities said they believed the Roger Centre security-cam footage caught Pagan in the act.
