Police arrested a North Carolina grandma who allegedly opened fire on a man in a Walmart parking lot in broad daylight over a custody dispute, according to reports.
A judge granted custody of a 2-year-old child to its father instead of the grandmother Thursday morning, reports said.
When the two met in Walmart to hand off the child, the granny allegedly pulled out a gun and tried to shoot the dad, according to Fox 8.
Instead, she reportedly shot herself in the foot, and the dad wasn’t injured, the report said.
Sheila Marie Nougier, 42, was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of assault by pointing a gun, one count of discharging a firearm in city limits and one count injury to personal property.
The child is reportedly safe with the toddler's grandfather.
