Reunited Love Saves A Man's Life

High school sweethearts reunite after 20 years and their rekindled love actually saves one of their lives. INSIDE EDITION talks to the happy couple.

It's a love story that even Hollywood couldn't have dreamt up for Valentine's Day. The young Utah couple began dating in high school, it was love at first sight. All of a sudden, Scott, an 18-year-old rugged athlete, was diagnosed with lupus.

"We were high school sweethearts," says Tina.

Scott proposed marriage but Tina said no. They went their separate ways, they each got married and had children.

Twenty years went by and they were both divorced. Sadly, Scott's health had taken a turn for the worse. His kidneys were failing, and he needed a kidney transplant.

Scott decided to reach out to Tina, and as fate would have it, she was a perfect match.

Tina didn't think twice about donating one of her kidneys.

"I was dying. I was scared," Scott said.

"It's divine intervention, definetly," Tina said.

INSIDE EDITION caught up with them in New York City where they enjoyed a romantic dinner and went to a Broadway show.

Twenty years after their high school romance, Scott and Tina were finally married. They were brought together by time, and a kidney.

"Life is beautiful. It's something money can't buy. It's great to be in love," says Tina.
