Karen Michael drove more than 300 miles from her home outside Chicago to Progressive Field in Cleveland. She waited outside the will call box office in hopes of buying a ticket.

As fate would have it, the Groundhog Day star, also a diehard Cubs fan, had an extra ticket and invited her to join him in the stands.

“I was excited to go to the game and sit with Bill,” she told Inside Edition. “I’ve been a lifelong Cubs fan and going to Game 6 and [winning] was a dream come true. I hope to go to Game 7.”

She sat in a celebrity circle, was surrounded by the likes of Price Is Right host Drew Carey and Today show weatherman Al Roker.

She added: “I went to the souvenir shop to find something to get him and it all had the Cleveland emblems on it. Hopefully when I get back to Chicago I can get him something and send it to him."
