On January 20, the Obama family will move out of the White House — the residence they have called home for eight years — and rent out a spacious $5 million home in Washington, D.C.
The home is 8,200 square feet and has nine bedrooms. It will be rented by the first family, who are staying in the nation’s capital so Sasha Obama can finish high school.
The mansion is located just two miles from the White House, giving President Obama quick access to his former digs, where he may be called to help President-elect Donald Trump with his early days in the Oval Office.
In a press conference Monday, Obama said he is offering his services to Trump even after he takes office.
"This office is bigger than any one person. And that’s why ensuring a smooth transition is so important," Obama told reporters last week.
