A recently-engaged Florida woman who allegedly had a bone to pick over the ring she was given by her new fiance hit him with a 2x4 last week, cops say.
Nassau County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call at about 2 p.m. Monday when they allegedly found Enrevie Hinayon Bendejo in the street with the piece of timber along with a man identified as her fiance.
According to cops, Bendejo used the wood, which had 1-inch nails sticking out of it, to strike her fiance.
"I then spoke with the victim who advised they have been arguing all day because she got very angry about the ring he proposed to her with," Officer Trevor Zittrower wrote in the arrest documents.
Police say the two live together and had been engaged about a week when Bendejo allegedly took issue with the ring.
Bendejo ripped the piece of wood off their front porch, according to the police report. Bendejo also allegedly bit her fiance on the arm and punched him in the face.
Bendejo, 25, was arrested and faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
According to online records, the court issued a no contact order Tuesday barring Bendejo from coming within 500 feet of her fiance.
