Scott Chafian’s wife, Cindy, suffers from polycystic kidney disease and for the last two years, the Virginia mom has been on dialysis. Her left kidney has been removed, and then her right kidney is shutting down. She survives with the help of dialysis.

When they found out her husband’s kidney was a perfect match to help her, they called it "miraculous."

The four-hour-procedure took place on January 24, the day before their 20th anniversary

“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to show my gratitude and appreciation for what he's doing for me,” she told Inside Edition.

He added: “I was lucky enough to give it to the person I love most in this world.”

His kidney was harvested, then carefully bagged and taken down the hall where Dr. John Calonna and his team performed the laparoscopic transplant procedure.
