The television icon was 80 years old.
Television legend Mary Tyler Moore has been laid to rest in a small, private ceremony at Connecticut's Oak lawn Cemetery.
Broadway icon Bernadette Peters, a longtime friend of the actress, attended the funeral Sunday, along with about 50 of Moore’s family members and friends, according to reports.
A brief service took place in a white chapel on the property and Moore was later interred at a grave adorned with an angel statue, according to the Connecticut Post.
Moore had reportedly been hospitalized with pneumonia due to complications from her diabetes and was put on a ventilator prior to her death.
The star, who died at the age of 80 last Wednesday, was best known for her groundbreaking roles in TV sitcoms like The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Dick Van Dyke Show.
Moore is also known for breaking the mold and establishing fashion icon status by wearing Capri pants in the early 60’s, something unheard of in television at the time.
Valerie Harper, who played Moore’s best friend on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its subsequent spinoff, Rhoda, took to Twitter to express her sadness.

Moore’s rep issued a statement to People magazine on the day of her death:
“Today, beloved icon, Mary Tyler Moore, passed away at the age of 80 in the company of friends and her loving husband of over 33 years, Dr. S. Robert Levine," Moore’s rep said in a statement to People magazine on the day of her death.
"A groundbreaking actress, producer, and passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile."
