Melania Trump Spotted for the First Time Since Inauguration, Avoids Manhattan Protests

Protesters took to the streets in New York City, Washington and North Carolina, Monday night.

Melania Trump has been seen for the first time in public since the inauguration festivities.

The first lady was photographed Monday night as she stepped out in New York City wearing an ivory-colored coat and nude pumps along Park Avenue.

She managed to avoid the angry protests over her husband's controversial immigration ban. In Manhattan’s East Village, located south of her home in Trump Tower, protesters gathered in Tompkins Square Park for the "rally against hate."

Protests continue to erupt across the country in places like Washington, D.C.; Jersey City, New Jersey and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Melania Trump has been keeping a low-profile since her husband was sworn-in on January 20. She has yet to fill top positions for her role as first lady.

She has hired New York party planner Stephanie Winston Wolkoff as a senior adviser. Wolkoff is 46 and a longtime friend of Trump’s third wife.

She made a name for herself by staging the glamorous Met Gala, a role that came in handy when she helped plan the Trump inaugural balls.
