Some critics took aim at the pop superstar's midriff as she performed in crop top and sparkly shorts during the halftime show.

The “Just Dance” singer took to Instagram Tuesday night to defend herself.

“I am proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too," she said. "No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don't need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That's the stuff of champions."

She was reacting to comments taking aim at her belly during her performance.

"Gaga's dough should've been tucked in better,” one person wrote on social media.

"Distracted by the flab on her stomach swinging around," another said.

Following Gaga’s Instagram post, her fans came to her defense, praising her for her words on body positivity.

“Love you inside and out! Thank you so much for being you,” was one comment.

“You're amazing, your body is amazing, your talent is amazing," said another. "So glad you chose to rise above the pettiness.”

It has been reported that Gaga's halftime show was the second most-viewed in Super Bowl history. It brought in 117.5 million viewers, not far behind Katy Perry's 2015 halftime show, which had 120.7 million viewers.
