Newborn Indian Rhino Gets Up to Take Her First Steps, Just Moments After Being Born

The Indian hippo, which has not yet been named, was born earlier this month at Zoo Plzen, located just west of Prague in the Czech Republic.

She may be new to the world, but she’s making great strides.

A newborn baby rhino could be seen on webcam at a Czech Republic zoo getting up and stretching her legs just moments after she was born.

The Indian rhino, which has not yet been named, was born earlier this month at Zoo Plzen, located just west of Prague to mom Manjula after a 485-day gestation period.

She was born at 104 pounds, and has since grown to 154 pounds in the last three weeks.

The newborn now becomes one of 74 Indian rhinos in zoos across Europe, according to The Associated Press.
