Mother of Teen Allegedly Held Hostage in Mansion Says Girl Was 'Branded Like Property'

The girl was allegedly held hostage with 7 other women.

Eight kidnapped women were forced to work as strippers at a local club in a disturbing case out of Georgia, authorities said this week.

Kenndric Roberts, 30, was arrested Tuesday after a woman being held in a 6,800-square-foot mansion in Sandy Springs called police and told them that she and several other women were being held against their will in the house.

"What we believe was happening is these women were basically lured there with a promise of either financial help or a modeling career or some kind of career advancement," Sandy Springs Police Sgt. Sam Worsham said.

The owner of the Pink Pony Strip Club, one of the clubs where the girls were allegedly working, said he had no knowledge that any trafficking was occurring.

"It’s horrible, deplorable. And I hope they get what they deserve in court, but the Pink Pony is not involved in any way," said Aubrey Villines, the general counselor for the club.

One mother, who said her teenage daughter was one of the alleged victims, said Roberts drugged the girl with Xanax and "branded her like property" to show that she belonged to Roberts and his gang, the Gangster Disciples, according to WGCL.

"From what she told me, he had information on the rest of the family and that if she didn’t come back, he would come after us and kill us," the woman, who did not want to be identified, told the station.

Roberts reportedly kept all the money that the women earned while working at the club.

Roberts has been charged with false imprisonment and trafficking of persons for labor in the case of the woman who initially called 911.

Authorities said they are interviewing the other women and that additional charges could be coming.

Four of the women were released to family and friends, according to reports, while four others were taken to victim's services.
