This 3-year-old’s day was made when her babysitter whipped out a mermaid costume to match hers.
Alidy has been dressing in different costumes since her father died in November, so when 15-year-old Keegan Carnahan pulled out her own costume during bath time, the girl was ecstatic.
"Ever since I dyed my hair pink Alidy has been saying that I was a mermaid and that I looked like a mermaid. Surely enough, she had decided to wear her little mermaid outfit when I was watching her," Carnahan said.
Carnahan, of Florida, said she went through a phase a couple of years ago and bought a mermaid tail so she figured it was the perfect time to put it to use.
“I decided to wear it to see her reaction and entertain her during bath time,” Carnahan said.
Carnahan took to Twitter to post some photos of the pair in their "natural habitat."
"She was blown away. She's pretty convinced I'm actually a mermaid," Carnahan said.
Alidy’s mom Jenna Haslan said it was a great moment to see her daughter have someone to relate to while wearing one of her many costumes.
“It made her day to see a costume just like hers. She was ecstatic,” Haslam said.
