Woman Proposes to Boyfriend After 21 Years Together: 'It's About Time'

They have eight kids, but never married.

After 21 years together, a Pennsylvania couple is finally planning to tie the knot.

Maureen McCloskey, 48, put together a “love book” and took her boyfriend, 56-year-old Dave Holland, on a trek down memory lane in a proposal she planned for his February birthday.

Although the couple has eight kids and six grandchildren, they are keeping their love fresh.

"I love that you are my best friend," McCloskey says in a video of the proposal. "I love cuddling with you. I love the way your butt looks in them jeans..."

On the last page, McCloskey pops the question to her beau with a ring, to which he eventually responds, "Yes."

“Dave proposed to me 15 years ago but I wasn’t going anywhere and neither was he, but we had all these kids and we never got around to it," McCloskey told InsideEdition.com.

What McCloskey didn't know, however, was that Holland had already been planning to propose himself, but it wasn't until she fell ill due to a brain aneurysm last month that he presented her with a diamond ring.

“I was really really surprised because I just proposed to him,” McCloskey said. “I am finally going to marry my soulmate and all my kids are gonna be a part of it."

The couple is planning a September wedding with all their kids involved, including the best man, who will be their 18-year-old son who has autism.

“It’s about time," McCloskey said. "It should have been done a long time ago, but I don’t know we were busy raising kids and living life."

As the saying goes, better late than never.
