President Donald Trump wraps up his first 100 days in office Saturday, and there’s no doubt the days leading up to the milestone conceived by Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt have been memorable.
Trump began his presidency on January 20, when he spoke of putting “America First” at his swearing-in ceremony before going on to dance with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, to Frank Sinatra’s "My Way" at a post-inauguration ball.
Trump’s presidency has so far seen numerous protests, including the history-making Women’s March that took place the day after his inauguration, as well as the March for Science that drew crowds of thousands of people on Earth Day.
In what has been hailed as one of Trump’s biggest accomplishments, Neil Gorsuch was confirmed to the Supreme Court of the United States, succeeding Antonin Scalia, who died in February 2016.
The president has also seen his fair share of controversy, often at odds with a press he at times has deemed “fake" and providing a constant source of material for satirists on Saturday Night Live.
Alec Baldwin frequently appears on the late-night show to portray the president, while Melissa McCarthy has stolen the show with her gum-smacking impression of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
On Thursday, Trump reflected on his first 100 days in office, telling Reuters, “I loved my previous life. I had so many things going. This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier."
