William and Kate Visit Diana's Tomb

Prince William and Kate Middleton traveled to the Spencer family estate to pay a visit to Princess Diana's grave just eight days before their wedding. INSIDE EDITION has the details.

Just eight days before their wedding extravaganza, Prince William and his bride-to-be paid a private tribute to his beloved late mother.

London newspapers report Will and Kate took a small boat to the island where Diana is buried on the Spencer family estate. They held hands and placed flowers at Diana's tomb.

INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney spoke with CBS correspondent Barry Petersen in London.

"Why would this be so significant?" McInerney asked.

"All of this is very, very emotional. I think that's what's happening here. Trying to create an emotional connection between William and his mother and William and the woman who will be his wife," Petersen explains.

And we're learning more about Kate's honeymoon shopping spree. She picked up a lacey ivory blouse, now named "the Kate" after her. She wore the same shirt in her engagement photo.

Kate's super slim figure is again sparking concern that she's lost too much weight. The front page of London's Daily Star reads, "Kate, You Need Cake" and a headline on Time magazine's website reads, "Wispy Kate Middleton Spotlights 'Brideorexia.' "

"Is Kate losing too much weight?" McInerney asked.

"Kate's lost a lot of weight; she went from a size 10 to a size 4. She looks rather thin and there are some people who are worried about that. But let's cut her a little slack, this is a pretty big event," said Petersen.

And there's another big royal celebration today, the Queen's 85th birthday! She donned a bright turquoise suit and matching hat and attended a service at Westminster Abbey, the site of William and Kate's upcoming nuptials!

The Queen has just given her formal consent to their union. Today, she signed an elaborate handwritten document approving the marriage of "Our Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales, and Our Trusty and Well-Beloved Catherine Elizabeth Middleton."
