Billy Bush Reveals His Daughter Called Home in Tears After Trump Tape Emerged

The former host said he could do nothing but apologize to his daughter.

Billy Bush has revealed how his daughter was so devastated by his infamous 2005 hot mic video with Donald Trump that she called home crying.

In his first interview about the tape, Bush told Good Morning America's Robin Roberts about his middle daughter Mary’s reaction when the video surfaced at the height of last year's presidential campaign.

“There was a powerful moment,” he recalled. “My now 16-year-old daughter called me from boarding school and she was in tears. She was really upset, and I said, 'Mary, it's going to be OK. You know, don't worry.'

"And she said, 'No. Why were you laughing at the things that he was saying on that bus? Why were you playing along with it, dad? It wasn't funny.' I said, 'Mary, I am sorry. And there is no good answer for that.'"

In the Access Hollywood clip, which was leaked in October, Trump says he can grab women wherever he wants because he is famous.

He is heard saying: “Grab them by the p****. You can do anything.”

In his new interview with ABC, Bush said: “The initial moments were total chaos. The paparazzi were never interested in me before and now they were outside the gate.”
