High There! Zoo's Newborn Baby Giraffe Is Already Six Feet Tall

At just a week old, the baby is already steady on his feet.

This Texas zoo is celebrating one tall delivery.

Kala the giraffe gave birth to a male calf at Fort Worth Zoo last week and the newborn already measures six feet tall and weighs 185 pounds.

The baby, who has not yet been named, will grow to be about 18 feet tall and could weigh up to 3,000 pounds.

At just a week old, he's already steady on his feet. Footage shared by the Fort Worth Zoo shows him running circles around his mom and her friends, who tower over him.

He'll join other species at the zoo's new, 10-acre African Savannah exhibit, which will open next year.
