2 Siblings Drown in Motel Pool During Church Trip

Sebastano, 11, and Kesha Greco, 17, were visiting Tampa from Dallas.

Two Texas siblings drowned in a motel pool over the weekend while on a church trip to Florida.

Authorities in Hillsborough County say 12-year-old Sebastano Greco and 17-year-old sister, Kesha Greco, were identified as the victims of the incident at a Tampa Clarion Inn on Sunday.

The brother and sister had traveled with their family to Tampa from Dallas as part of a large group from New Life Church of North Texas, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

A spokesperson from the church declined to comment on the exact circumstances of the deaths.

"The only thing we can say is we are deeply saddened by this tragedy and are gathering facts like the family are still gathering facts," the spokesperson said. "We're just ministering to the family the best we can."

Police have determined that foul play was likely not involved. However, authorities are unsure whether one of the siblings was trying to help the other when things took a tragic turn.

Bystanders told reporters that both siblings were unresponsive when pulled from the pool.

Sebastano was declared dead Sunday. His sister held on until Tuesday, until she also died.

"The family needs all the prayers and support possible. We thank you in advance. God is our strength, deliverer and our savior evermore," the page reads.
