The children - a 3-year-old girl, two 2-year-old girls and a 1-year-old boy - were in the back seat of the car, police said.
A California woman has been arrested after allegedly leaving her young children in her vehicle as temperatures soared above 100 degrees, police said.
Deputies responding to a report of children alone in a car for about 30 minutes found three toddlers and a baby locked inside a Cadillac sedan on Vallejo Street at about 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Victorville police said.
The temperature hit 101 degrees in the area at the time, online weather records show. Inside the car, they would have been far higher.

The children — a 3-year-old girl, two 2-year-old girls and a 1-year-old boy — were in the back seat of the car, which had its engine turned off and the windows rolled up, police said.
There were no car seats inside the vehicle, authorities said.
Their mother, 28-year-old Danessha Williams, returned to the car and allegedly tried to flee the location in the car without securing the children in the back seat, cops said.

Police said they were able to detain her without incident, and she was booked at the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of child cruelty.
She is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on Friday.
The children were examined by first responders at the scene, and later released to the custody of a family member, officials said.
