In 1997, Simpson took a swing with his golf club at an Inside Edition cameraman at the Sepulveda Golf Complex in Los Angeles. The incident came two years after his acquittal in the murders of his wife, Nicole, and her friend, Ron Goldman.

Later in 2000, the former NFL star moved from Los Angeles to Florida, where he hoped to stay out of the media's glare, but his behavior and relationship with his new girlfriend, Nicole look-alike Christy Prody, would make that difficult.

A 911 call flung Simpson into the spotlight again as he accused Prody of hitting him, but he withdrew the complaint without any charges filed.

In 2001, he was arrested for road rage. While standing next to his lawyer, a cavalier Simpson could be seen making silly faces. He was acquitted of those charges.

Simpson has been in jail for nine years and he will be facing a parole board Thursday, which may result in his release from prison.
