A Florida Christian academy lunch lady has been arrested after police said she had sex with a student in the school kitchen.
Aimee Chevalier, a 40-year-old cafeteria worker at Hernando Christian Academy, is accused of trading about 100 explicit text messages with the male student before agreeing to meet in the kitchen last year.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, Chevalier admitted to the encounter during an interview with investigators.
Police said she knew the boy’s age. Chevalier allegedly also told investigators that she planned to have sex with the teenager during a party at one of his friends’ houses.
Chevalier was arrested Aug. 8 on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and transmission of harmful materials to a minor.
She remains held at the Hernando County Detention Center on $12,000 bail.
The school has declined to comment specifically about the allegations.
An attorney for the school said "HCA is committed to helping ensure a proper resolution in these matters and doing so in line with the strong values that have shaped the school since its founding in 1981."
