In the midst of Anthony Weiner's scandal, it has been revealed that his wife Huma Abedin is pregnant. But despite the baby news, calls for Weiner's resignation grow louder every day. INSIDE EDITION has more.
Now it's clear why Huma Abedin is standing by her disgraced husband…she's pregnant.
Abedin, who reportedly decided she won't be splitting from Weiner, is in her first trimester.
She is currently in Abu Dhabi with her boss, Hillary Clinton.
After Abedin found out she was pregnant, she and her husband apparently did what many couples do when they learn they have a child on the way—they started thinking about getting a bigger place to live. They put their New York City apartment on the market.
The modest, two-bedroom, 875-square-foot home was listed for $449,000.
Abedin actually appears in one of the photos on the real estate website.
In the office, there's a poster of Weiner's idol, President Kennedy.
One of the couple's cats is also pictured. A cat also appears in one of Weiner's now-infamous sexting photos.
In the wake of the scandal, the apartment was suddenly taken off the market.
So how will the stress of "Weinergate" affect Abedin's pregnancy? We asked obstetrician Dr. Annette Perez-Delboy.
Dr. Perez-Delboy says emotional support is now key for Abedin.
"You don't want to have a national scandal when you're pregnant. The best thing is support, so you need to think who's going to be your support through this, who's going to help you throughout," said Dr. Perez-Delboy.
It's been suggested that news of Abedin's pregnancy was leaked in an effort to win sympathy for Weiner.
If that's the case, it's not working. The calls for his resignation from Congress grow louder by the day. The New York Daily News calls him a "dead man walking."
"I think his future looks bleak at this point. A lot of people are saying now it's a matter of days. I frankly personally would be surprised if it goes through the weekend," said politico.com's Beth Frerking.
But on The View Thursday, Barbara Walters surprised a lot of people by coming to Weiner's defense.
"I think Anthony Weiner should hang in there, He was a good congressman and maybe he can weather this all and be effective," Walters said.
Pressure on Weiner reached a fever pitch after an x-rated photo of the congressman surfaced.
It was released after conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart, who broke Weinergate, showed it to shock jocks Opie and Anthony, and their guest actor Vincent D'Onofrio, on his cell phone.
A video camera in the studio caught the image and the deejays leaked it, to Breitbart's fury.
"They did so without my permission and it's very troubling," he told Fox News.
