Melania Fires Back at Ivana Trump's 'I'm First Lady' Remark, Calling It 'Self-Serving Noise'

The first lady claims Donald Trump's first wife is only trying to sell books.

Ivana Trump has ticked off the first lady with comments about her relationship with the president.

In an interview with Good Morning America Monday, Ivana Trump said she speaks to her former husband every 14 days.

“I have the direct number to the White House, but I no really want to call him there because Melania is there and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife,” she said, laughing. “I’m first lady, ok?”

Melania's spokeswoman fired back on Monday afternoon, saying, “Mrs. Trump is honored by her role as first lady of the United States. She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books.

"There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise."

Ivana Trump also had the claws out while talking about her one-time rival, Marla Maples.

Donald Trump's first wife is refusing to even utter the name of wife No. 2, referring to Maples only as a "showgirl."

“I don't talk about her,” she told CBS Sunday Morning. “She's a showgirl, never achieved anything in her life."

She added that Maples “was flirting and she got away with it."

While blaming Maples for the collapse of her first marriage, she said she's “not sure” if she blames Donald for the affair because she claims he could have picked any girl he wanted.

The mother of Trump’s oldest three children repeated the “showgirl” put-down on Good Morning America Monday while plugging her new book, Raising Trump.

Maples was in the Broadway show The Will Rogers Follies back in 1992.

In her book, Trump’s first wife says she knew her marriage was done in December 1989 when a “young blonde woman approached me out of the blue and said, ‘I’m Marla and I love your husband. Do you?’ I said, ‘Get lost. I love my husband.’ It was unladylike but I was in shock."

The Czech-born Ivana and Donald Trump divorced in 1992, ending their 15-year marriage. The following year, Maples and Trump got married and had one child, Tiffany.

The 68-year-old Ivana said she has no problem with Melania.

"One is nobody and the other one is first lady,” Ivana Trump said of Trump’s wives that followed her.
