Rapper's Tweet Sparks Mall Flash Mob

An Ohio shopping mall was overrun by a crowd of hundreds after rapper Machine Gun Kelly tweeted to his fans to start a flash mob. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

It was a wild scene as a flash mob gathered at a suburban shopping mall.

The scene grew even wilder as mall cops moved in to arrest a rapper who calls himself Machine Gun Kelly, for standing on a table in the food court.

He struggled and even lost his shirt as police tried to handcuff him. The crowd was chanting his initials, M.G.K.

It happened in a mall outside Cleveland, Ohio. When the struggle ended, Machine Gun Kelly was led away through the flash mob to a holding cell in the mall. But his fans demanded his release.

The out-of-control crowd then stormed through the mall, down escalators, and rampaged through the aisles of department stores. There were no reports of serious damage or theft.

Machine Gun Kelly, named for the legendary Prohibition era gangster, organized the flash mob with this tweet:

"Today we flash mob NO MATTER WHAT! 5pm at South Park mall in the food court. Wear disquises. Then rage!"

Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, was freed after being charged with disorderly conduct.

Flash mobs organized on Twitter are becoming a serious social problem, as seen in recent incidents in downtown Philadelphia where rioters beat innocent bystanders and smashed cars.

The scenes are also reminiscent of the shocking disturbances in London, where mobs of youths unleashed a reign of terror.

Fortunately, this flash mob did not descend into violence, just chaos.
