Booted from Monday Night Football, Hank Williams Jr. is standing by his controversial comments today, when he compared President Obama to Hitler!
"They're the enemy," said Williams.
"Who's the enemy?" asked Brian Kilmeade.
"Obama," said Williams.
During an interview on Fox and Friends, Williams was asked about last summer's so called golf summit, when President Obama played with Republican leader John Boehner.
"What didn't you like about it?" asked Gretchen Carlson.
"Oh come on! It'd be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu," said Williams.
The Fox hosts were clearly stunned.
"I don't understand that analogy," said Kilmeade.
"Well I'm glad you don't, brother, because a lot of people do," said Williams.
"You used one of the most hated people in all of the world to describe the president," said Carlson.
"That is true," laughed Williams.
Reaction to William's rant was swift. ESPN yanked his iconic open to Monday Night Football, a theme song that has been played for 22 years.
In a statement, ESPN said they were "extremely disappointed" by William's comments.
But he's not backing down.
"My analogy was extreme but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me. They're polar opposites and it made no sense. I have always respected the office of the president," said Williams.
On The View, Joy Behar came to Williams's defense.
Behar said, "He wasn't comparing Obama to Hitler. He was saying they are opposites, apples and oranges."
