Libyan Dictator Muammar Qaddafi is Dead

The world is reacting to the death of Libyan despot Muammar Qaddafi, who was killed by fighters in his hometown of Sirte. INSIDE EDITION reports.

America awoke this morning to the stunning news that Colonel Muammar Qaddafi is dead and his 42-year reign has come to an end.

President Obama held a special press conference to address Qaddafi's death. Extraordinary footage shows Qaddafi captured alive after attempting to flee from rebel forces. Graphic, disturbing cell phone videos recorded the last moments of his life.

In one, a disheveled and bloody Qaddafi was taken from a Jeep by guards. He was shot dead soon afterwards.

A second cell phone video captured his dead body being dragged along a dusty road. It was a chaotic scene as the rebels rejoiced.

And the moment Secretary of State Hillary Clinton learned of Qaddafi's death was caught on camera. Clinton's assistant, a very-pregnant Huma Abedin, was the one who handed her the Blackberry with the news. Abedin is the wife of disgraced former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner.

Before his capture, Qaddafi reportedly tried to hide in a drainage pipe. His last moments on earth were spent cowering like a rat in a trap.
