She's the gutsy wife who's taking her unemployed husband's job search all the way to the White House. And now she's getting help from the president himself.
"My husband has an engineering degree," said Jennifer. "He was laid off three years ago and has yet to find a permanent job in his field."
She asked the president why foreign workers with special skills in the tech field are getting U.S. visas.
Jennifer was especially upset because in his State of the Union address last week, Obama spoke about boosting domestic jobs. Jennifer even interrupted the president at one point.
President Obama said, "There's a huge demand for engineers right now."
Jennifer interrupted the president, saying, "I understand, but we're not getting that."
Then Obama made this pledge to Jennifer.
"If you send me your husband's resume, I'd be interested in finding out exactly what's happening there," said Obama.
Jennifer later told MSNBC the resume was already on its way.
"I guess we'll know soon enough," said Jennifer.
The resume sent to the president shows Darin Wedel has a degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University. He worked at Texas Instruments for nine years before apparently being laid off in 2009.
Jennifer's husband says of his determined wife, "She's a tiger. I'm very proud of her."
