Mother Gives Birth to Sextuplets

A mother in Texas gave birth to the nation's newest set of sextuplets and INSIDE EDITION talks to the woman whose life just got a little more hectic.

They're six tiny bundles of joy, sextuplets born almost two months premature by C-Section, the heaviest weighs just 2 pounds, 15 ounces.

Five of the babies are doing well, but the littlest one, a girl named Lea Michele, same name as the star of Glee, weighs just one pound, 10 ounces, and is struggling.

They're all in the neonatal intensive care unit at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.

So how's mom?

Mother, Lauren Perkins said, "We are really just looking forward to bringing them home in a couple months and getting to be parents and taking care of them."

She is exhausted for sure, but in good spirits. So what does she think about being called the new Kate Gosselin?

"I am not the next Kate Gosselin," said Lauren.

The Gosselin's marriage famously imploded after the pressures of caring for six babies proved too much. But Lauren said she and husband David aren't worried.

She gained a healthy 55-pounds during her pregnancy. Incredibly, that's about the same weight that Jessica Simpson gained giving birth to just one.

Lauren's time in the delivery room wasn't exactly a private affair, there were 35 people on hand to help out.

She is a 28-year-old school psychologist, though she doesn't plan to return to work soon. So is there a reality show in her future?

Lauren said "We really don't see ourselves doing a reality show. It is not something we are looking for."
