Family of Missing Hollywood Studio Exec Continues Search

INSIDE EDITION talks to the sons of a missing Hollywood executive who are asking America to help them find their dad after he vanished without a trace.

They are the three sons of a missing Hollywood executive, and they are making an urgent plea to America for help in finding their dad.

19-year-old Dylan Smith and his brothers are devasted. Their 57-year-old father, Gavin has vanished. And now they are in a desperate search for their dad.

"Life's not the same without you and I don't know what I'm going to do without you in my life," said Dylan.

INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret asked, "If you could get one message out that you hope your dad would hear, what would you want him to know?"

Austin said, "Just, that he has a family waiting for him and it's not going to be the same world without him and that we love him so much."

Gavin Smith is a top level executive with 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles. He's been with the company for nearly two decades. His family says when he didn't call or show up for work, they knew something was terribly wrong.

Smith, who was on UCLA's national championship basketball team in 1975, works behind the scenes distributing movies like Avatar and Titanic. He once appeared in front of the cameras, playing a bartender in a film called Cobb.

But at 10 pm last week, Smith left his house behind the wheel of his black Mercedes and never returned.

Moret asked, "What are you most concerned about at this point?"

Evan said, "The problem here is that time is of the essence in these things. My gut feeling is that he is out there and we just have to go find him."

They're very worried that their dad may have accidentally driven off a steep cliff in one of the canyons near their home. A massive search has so far, come up empty.

Now, the three sons are skipping school to join the search, plastering Missing Person posters across the city.

Smith is 6 foot 6 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds.

They've even set up a website and are monitoring social media for leads. So far, nothing. And as the days go by without any news, they fear the worst.

Evan said, "I just know that if any of us were missing, my dad would not stop looking for us, so we're not going to stop until we find him."
