New Information Surfaces On Wife Of Accused Boston Bomber

INSIDE EDITION is learning more about the all-American wife of Tamerlan Tzsarnaev, she converted to Islam and authorities want to know what she knew about his life. Her lawyer says she is innocent and did not know her husband was planning the attack.

She's the all-American girl who converted to Islam and married the accused Boston Marathon bomber.

26-year-old Katherine Russell was the college sweetheart of bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who was killed in the shootout with police. They have a three-year-old daughter.

Now, everyone wants to know what, if anything, Katherine may know about the terror campaign.

Barbara Walters on The View said, "Did she know about his anger? Did she have any idea when she sat with him and her brother-in-law that this was going to happen?"

Katherine was wearing Islamic garb when she left the home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that she shared with her husband and his kid brother, Dzhokhar. She was later seen at her parents home in Rhode Island.

Her father is an emergency room physician, Dr. Warren Russell and her mother, Judith is a nurse.

Katherine dropped out of Boston’s Suffolk University in 2009 to marry Tamerlan.

A friend told reporters, "She was this all-American girl who was brainwashed by her super-religious husband. Nobody understands what happened to her. She's not the same person."

The love affair was not all smooth-sailing. INSIDE EDITION obtained a police report from July 2009 when Tamerlan was arrested for domestic violence.

Katherine "was beat up and was crying hysterically," when cops got there. Police quoted Tamerlan as admitting, "Yes, I slapped her."

Both brothers attended a mosque in Cambridge.

One of the mosque members said, "Something like this violates the very essence of our religion."

Last January, Tamerlan freaked out when the Imam praised Martin Luther King in a sermon.

"You cannot mention this guy because he is not a Muslim," Tamerlan said.

The mosque member told the press, "After the incident, people sat down with him and explained to him, and he seemed to understand."

We're also learning more about Tamerlan’s final moments.

As the deadly shoot-out in Watertown erupted Tamerlan phoned his mother in Russia and told her, "They've started shooting at us. They're chasing us. I love you, Mama."

New photos which helped the FBI identify the bombers have just been released. They show both bombers loitering around the marathon finish line.

One picture shows Dzhokhar,  in the backwards baseball cap, leaving the scene moments after the second bomb exploded.

The photo was taken by marathon runner David Greene.

"I am so happy, so thankful I got that one photo," Greene told INSIDE EDITION.

A family attorney says the bombers widow knew nothing about the terror plot.
