Donald Trump Fires Back At University Lawsuit

Donald Trump went on a media blitz to lash out against a new lawsuit filed by the New York State Attorney General calling Trump University a scam. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

A furious Donald Trump came out swinging on Monday after being hit with a $40 million lawsuit that claims his Trump University is a scam.

Trump was all fired up about the Attorney General of New York State, Eric Schneiderman, who is accusing the billionaire of running a bait-and-switch.

"This was a lie from beginning to end," Schneiderman told Good Morning America.

On Good Morning America George Stephanopoulos asked Trump, “He says this is a lie from beginning to end. Your response?”

Trump replied, “This guy is a political hack from beginning to end. We have a school that's a terrific school. It did a fantastic job and I’ve never even heard of this. It has a 98% approval rating.”

The lawsuit claims Trump University encourages people "to spend tens of thousands of dollars they couldn't afford for lessons they never got," and "engaged in numerous deceptive practices."

One man claimed he spent $35,000 for a Trump University package that included personal mentoring from Trump, but all he got was a photo of himself next to a Trump poster.

The student said, “All of these people are phonies and they are just scam artists."

The real estate mogul says the charges are trumped up and the lawsuit is politically motivated—payback for his outspoken criticism of the president.

Trump said, “On Thursday evening he met with President Obama. He then filed the lawsuit and filed it on a Saturday at 1p.m. When was the last time you heard of a government agency filing a lawsuit on a Saturday?”

Trump contributed $12,500 to the attorney general's campaign in 2010.

Trump said, “During the investigation he was asking people in my firm, including one of my lawyers for campaign contributions. Whoever heard of this?”
