Dr. Jennifer Berman Faces Her Own Medical Scare

Dr. Jennifer Berman, known to TV audiences for offering up her medical advice, faces her own medical scare. INSIDE EDITION has more.

She's the famous doctor who doles out medical advice on TV. But Dr. Jennifer Berman is revealing on Monday's The Doctors that she recently became a patient herself when she faced a breast cancer scare.

Berman got breast implants after giving birth to her second child. One implant actually pushed the mass closer to the surface. Her doctor did a biopsy.

Dr. Berman said, "Doctors are notoriously bad patients. I have a horrible pain threshold."

Berman is one of the nation's best-known doctors. She's made frequent appearances as an expert on women's sexual health on Good Morning America and Oprah.  She has a history of breast cancer in her family.

"My mother died of breast cancer and my sister was also recently diagnosed with breast cancer," she revealed

Her sister is fellow TV doctor, Laura Berman. They co-hosted the Discovery Health Network show Berman and Berman.

Berman says she's determined to find happiness in life, especially after the death of her mom.

"That ability to get out of that negative worry came to me after she died, and I think that was a gift," said Berman.

Berman got the results of her biopsy on The Doctors. Her physician, Dr. Kristi Funk, performed Angelina Jolie's double mastectomy last spring.

Dr. Funk told Berman, "I have good news for you. The biopsy shows that that mass is absolutely benign."
