Rachel Canning's parents say her boyfriend played a role in leading her astray. INSIDE EDITION reports on the latest details of the story.
Is her boyfriend to blame?
That's the claim from the parents of the 18-year-old New Jersey student who's suing them for private school tuition.
The boyfriend is 18-year-old Lucas Kitzmiller. Rachel Canning's parents, Sean and Elizabeth say he led their daughter astray with booze and wild parties.
Rachel's parents reportedly gave her an ultimatum: dump the boyfriend or move out of the family home in Lincoln Park, New Jersey to which Rachel replied, "Well, I'm not coming home if I can't see him."
Now the boyfriend's dad, Jeffery Kitzmiller is furiously denying his son led Rachel astray or is to blame in any way for the Canning family drama!
He stated: "With every boyfriend she's had it's always the boyfriend who's the bad influence. We have been dragged into this."
Rachel was tight-lipped when INSIDE EDITION caught up with her on the street, saying nothing to questions we asked.
Meanwhile, the Cannings are getting support from the dad who caused a sensation with the way he disciplined his disrepectful teenage daughter. He didn't just take away her laptop, he shot it.
Tommy Jordan's video, which he recorded outside his home in North Carolina, has been viewed more than 39 million times on YouTube.
Writing about Rachel Canning on his Facebook page, Jordan says, "I'd like about 15 minutes with this kid and a belt. But I think I'd only need the first 90 seconds or so. All the rest would just be a lotta hollerin.' "
Jordan's not the only parent to come up with a novel way of disciplining his kid.
How about the teenager whose mom sent her to Siberia. You heard right—Siberia. Fed up with her daughter's behavior, Natalia Roberts of Chantilly, Virginia, ordered 15-year-old Sofia to move in with her biological father who lives in the desolate Russian region. Two years later, Sofia is still in Siberia.
Her mom told INSIDE EDITION, "We love Sofia very much and would love her to return, but her destuctive behavior...makes it nearly impossible."
INSIDE EDITION spoke to her via Skype and asked, "What do you want to say to your mom?"
"All I would want is just to be back home, to be back in her home, if I'm still welcome there," said Sofia.
Hopefully, Siberia isn't where Rachel will end up.
