Who Is Donald Sterling's Mistress Behind Racist Rant Scandal

INSIDE EDITION is learning more about the mistress at the center of the Donald Sterling scandal who some call a "gold digger."

Who is the beautiful woman behind the mask who has brought down a billionaire?

Thirty-one-year-old V. Stiviano has been called a gold digger who dates wealthy old men. She started dating embattled LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling after they were introduced at the 2010 Super Bowl.

On the leaked recording, you can hear how Stiviano uses her feminine charms, cooing and soothing the irascible billionaire.

She says on the recording, "I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?" she says on the recording. "I'm sorry, honey. Can I get you a little bit more juice? I don't want to fight with you."

And that mask she's wearing? It's actually a visor called the Sun Cap used by women who are sensitive to the sun.

We're also learning more about Donald Sterling and his lavish lifestyle. He saw himself as a 21st century Great Gatsby and threw annual parties where the guests were required to wear white, just like in the classic novel.

Beautiful women were reportedly hired to mingle with the guests. But his now-estranged wife, Rochelle, kept a close watch at his side.

Dave Zirin, author of Bad Sports, How Owners Are Ruining the Games We Love, says Sterling is one of Los Angeles' wealthiest slumlords and his wife helped him evict tenants.

Zirin told INSIDE EDITION, "Donald Sterling's racism has not even been an open secret. It's been an open fact in the NBA for years."

"Rochelle Sterling posed as a health inspector to get inside people's apartments to look for violations because they were constatly trying to push people out of their homes so they could raise the rents," said Zirin.

Lawyer Carl Douglas knows Sterling well. He says the billionaire actually spat gum at him during a deposition.

Douglas told INSIDE EDITION, "He spit his gum out at me across the table. It was outrageous."
