An unruly mob attacked a cab, jumping on the hood, smashing the windows and setting it on fire, initially while the cab driver is still inside.
At first the mob took swings at the cab and tried to overturn it. Then the chaos took on an even more dangerous turn when a man in a yellow jersey pulled out a lighter and tried to torch the cab.
His first attempt failed but then he lit a piece of paper on fire, which ignited the entire cab.
The driver, Abraham Teferi, is now coming forward. "I was scared," he said of the frightening incident.
AEG, the company that hosted the championship game, presented Teferi with a check for $10,000.
"When we saw Abraham what bothered me was he didn't bring any of this on. He was just trying to do his job," said AEG President and CEO Tim Leiweke.
The $10,000 will help Abraham earn back his livelihood after the violent attack.
