There were tears of anger from the woman with the world's most lavish closet. It's just been burglarized to the tune of $1 million worth of precious jewels, watches, and handbags.
She told INSIDE EDITION, "No one should ever deserve to be robbed. This is gut-wrenching."
The 3,000-square-foot, three-story closet, which features a champagne bar, cost half-a-million dollars to build, and is big enough to host her lavish charity events.
But last Friday night, Roemer and her husband returned from dinner at a nearby country club to find the closet had been ransacked. Roemer says she had neglected to turn on the alarm system. She believes the thief entered their property through the back gate, cut his way through a bathroom window and went straight for the most expensive stuff in the closet.

She showed INSIDE EDITION the ransacked closet and said, "This was filled with diamond bracelets all draped on here. Very unique jewelry, just gone."
But worst of all was the loss of a silver locket containing a lock of hair from her son Michael, who died in a car accident eight years ago.
An emotional Roemer said, "It is just irreplaceable. That’s the stuff you can't get over."
She said surveillance cameras showed a thief to be a small man, who made four trips in and out of the closet. "I believe, after all of the publicity this fundraising closet had gotten in the past month, that he had done his homework," said Roemer.
So, maybe the lesson is that if you've got the worlds most lavish closet, you might want to keep that information in the closet.
She said, "When my closet went viral, it went over even into Europe. They said it could have been somebody from another country, even. So, who knows?"
