Mom Turns Detective To Find Stolen Wedding Ring

After her house was robbed, one mother took matters into her own hands to find her stolen wedding ring. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

Call her detective mom!  When thieves stole Shary Gonzalez-Peck’s treasured wedding ring she didn't wait for police, she hit the street herself to get her ring back!

She told INSIDE EDITION, “I needed to take matters into my own hands and do it myself.”

The drama started when brazen crooks broke into her Houston home in broad daylight. She wasn't home but she watched the surveillance video live streaming on her phone and was terrified that her nanny and five-month-old daughter were hiding in a closet.

She said, “It was the scariest day of my life.”

Thank goodness no one was hurt, but her three-and-a-half carat wedding ring was gone.

“It was just devastating,” she said.

Cops eventually caught the suspects, but the $6,000 ring was missing. She lost all hope. Then, she learned that one suspect admitted he sold her ring to a store at a mall in Houston.

Detective Shary drove to the mall to find her ring. Her husband, Jason, wasn't surprised.

He said, “There is no stopping her when she has her mind set on something. She's relentless.”

Even Houston Police Detective Spencer Duvall was impressed, saying, “Normally, you don't see a complainant go out and try to recover their own evidence and she showed a lot of courage in doing that.”

Cops got to the mall in the nick of time before Shary charged in. Thousands of allegedly stolen rings were seized. They showed Shary pictures of the loot and there was her wedding ring.

Only INSIDE EDITION was there as an excited Shary finally got her ring back. The case was closed and this mom says her detective days are over!
