Good Samaritan Allegedly Mowed Down By Irate Mom After Hot Car Call

A woman is confined to a wheelchair after she called 911 to report a child left alone in a hot car. INSIDE EDITION explains.

You've never heard a hot-car story like this. A woman called cops when she saw a child left in a vehicle and is now paying a terrible price for her good deed.

Shannon Dominguez says she was in a parking lot outside Denver when she spotted a five-year-old left in a car by his mom.

Dominguez said, “I didn't know if she was going to be in the store for 30 seconds or 30 minutes.”

So, Dominguez did what any Good Samaritan would do under the circumstances, she called 911.

Dominguez: “There's a five-year-old child left in a little white Honda by himself.”
911 operator: “Are there any windows open on the vehicle?”
Dominguez: “Nope.”

Just then, the mom walked out of a dollar store and returned to her car.

Dominguez : “Oh, wait, here comes his mommy now.”
911 operator: “Ok.”

Dominguez couldn't hide her feelings toward the mom. She said to the mother, “Mom of the year. The police are on the way.”

She says the boy's mom was furious after she realized police had been notified. So furious, in fact, that she jumped into her car and allegedly gunned it, driving right into her.

“I never in my wildest nightmares would've imagined something like that happening,” said Dominguez.

A witness called 911 and said, “Somebody just ran over somebody. The woman is very, very injured.”

Dominguez spent eight days in the ICU and is now confined to a wheelchair when she goes out. At home, she needs a walker. She needs lots of medication to get through the day.

She said, “I struggle to sleep. I struggle to sit comfortably.”

The little boy's mom was identified as 27-year-old Kristina Riddell. She's been charged with assault, child abuse, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Dominguez says she'll never forget how her good deed in that parking lot turned into the worst experience of her life.
