Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is speaking out about their devastating Super Bowl loss and that final game call being called the worst call ever. INSIDE EDITION reports.
Embattled coach Pete Carroll is breaking his silence about what's being dubbed the worst call of all time.
"I never make the call thinking it's gonna go bad," he said.
The coach of the Seattle Seahawks defended his decision to throw the ball instead of running it during the last seconds of the Super Bowl.
The Today show's Matt Lauer interviewed Carroll, saying, "The experts, not just average joes, say it was the worst call ever."
Pete Carroll responded, "It was the worst result of a call ever. The call would have been a great one if we'd caught it. It would have been just fine and nobody would have thought twice about it."
Carroll told Matt Lauer that he's lost sleep and shed tears since the big game.
Lauer asked Carroll, "Have you allowed yourself to have that one moment lying in bed where the tears flowed?"
Carroll responded, "Yeah, that happened at that 405 mark, you know, there was a break where I allowed all of the rush of it to hit."
At least one Seahawks star has reason to smile despite the heartbreaking loss. Richard Sherman and his girlfriend welcomed a baby boy. They named him Rayden.
Get this, he was born on February 5, or 2/5, and Sherman wears number 25.
"Is it a coincidence or is he just that clever?! Either way I'm ecstatic," Sherman tweeted.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson tweeted his congrats and a very kind offer: "Let me [know] if u need me to babysit!"
And remember those crazy sharks?! They made their first public appearance since their wacky moves during Katy Perry's halftime show when Katy Perry's on-again-off-again boyfriend John Mayer was guest-hosting The Late Late Show.
