Sissy The Dog's Midnight Search For Her Hospitalized Human Mommy

An incredible dog wandered alone in the middle of the night to a hospital in search of its human mom, and succeeded! INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

A frantic little dog was on a mission of love. The dog set out to find her beloved owner in the hospital! And wait until you hear how the persistent pooch got there!

It began when Sissy the miniature Schnauzer ran away from home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Dale Franck explained how he let Sissy and her brother Barney out in the backyard and only Barney came back.

He said, "I went out looking on the porch and she was gone."

What Dale didn't know was that Sissy was on a search for Dale's wife, Nancy, who was in the hospital recovering from an operation.

The dog ventured on a twenty-block journey, straight to the hospital. It arrived at the hospital at 5:28 a.m.

In surveillance footage, automatic doors can be seen closing behind her, and she's off to find the woman she considers her mommy! Up one corridor and down another, until a security officer found Sissy.

The security guard said, "We started looking at the tags and it had the address and we saw how far away this dog had lived. It was quite an amazing journey to get here!"

They found out that Sissy belonged to Nancy, who was stunned when her daughter brought the dog to see her.

Nancy, in her hospital bed, said, "Sissy was wiggling and squirming, kind of whiny, all excited to see me. My first reaction was, 'Sarah, did you sneak this dog in?' She said, 'No mom, she snuck herself down here."

How did they do it? It's a dog-gone mystery!
