'I'm Happy I'm Fat' Woman Finds Joy Packing On the Pounds

She went from a size 4 to a size 18 and tells INSIDE EDITION she’s much happier being fat than thin.

Joni Edelman told INSIDE EDITION, "Being thin didn't make me happy, and being fat does."

You don't hear that a lot these days. That's why Edelman is creating lots of buzz with her blog post: "I'm fat and I'm happy."

The mom of five reached that conclusion after a roller-coaster life of weight loss and gain.

Five years ago, Joni, a nurse, was a svelte size four - a 123-pound bikini babe. Now, 40-year-old Joni wears up to a size 18.

INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney asked, "How difficult is it to maintain a small size?

Edelman responded, "Almost impossible. On my mind if I overate, let's say it was someone's birthday and I had a piece of cake, I would say 'Okay, well tomorrow, now, I have to run seven miles."

Joni said she was working out three-to-four hours each day, and limited herself to 1,200 calories a day. But in doing so, she said she was missing out on quality time with her family. Finally, her husband sat her down.

She told INSIDE EDITION, "He said 'I married you, I didn't marry a thin person, I married you.' And that was the real light bulb moment for me because I am so much more than my size."
