Kevin Spacey Scrubbed From New Film a Month Before Its Release; Christopher Plummer to Replace Him
The decision was made as numerous men have accused the "House of Cards" star of sexual harassment and assault.
Kevin Spacey is being erased from a movie that is just six weeks away from being released.
Until this week, the Oscar winner was portraying legendary oil billionaire J. Paul Getty in, All the Money in the World, about the 1973 kidnapping of Getty’s grandson.
But in the wake of allegations that Spacey has a history of predatory behavior, The Usual Suspects star’s scenes will be reshot with 87-year-old Christopher Plummer taking over the role.
The announcement comes on the heels of Boston TV journalist Heather Unruh's public denunciation of the actor for allegedly molesting her 18-year-old son.
She claims Spacey plied the teenager with alcohol at a restaurant on Nantucket island in July 2016.
"He stuck his hand in his pants and grabbed his genitals,” she said in a press conference Wednesday.
Unruh's charges are shocking America. She is a respected former anchorwoman.
TV's Dr. Oz says the sexual harassment scandal that erupted last month over movie mogul Harvey Weinstein's alleged misconduct has all but destroyed Spacey's career.
"It is a game changer for Hollywood and society because Hollywood is often the bellwether for society," Dr. Oz told Inside Edition.
